Gnome Adoption

Please message/email me with your enquiry or questions. There is a link below and also on Instagram.

• Take a look at the Choose a Gnome section, then go to the online shop to order direct.

• Special one-off orders and commissions are taken, please fill in the enquiry form and Julie will get back to you to discuss requirements and timings. Depending on the Gnoming time of the year, it may be a two week turn around or not possible.

• You can collect your order from The Gnome Office in Shamley Green near Guildford, Surrey by prior arrangement or it can be posted out to the UK by Royal Mail, details on the online shop.

• See Gnome Events – Gnomes can be ordered and picked up at craft fairs we are attending.

• Payment needs to be made up front – cash, Faster Payment/BACS and cards accepted.

Gnome basics

• Every Gnome is handmade from beginning to end to traditional styles.

• Each Gnome is individually different, quirky and limited.

• 100% hand cut and hand sewn using Blanket stitch with Gutterman top stitch thread.

• Made predominately from 100% wool felt, some unusual colours are a combination of wool/rayon mix.

• Naturally stuffed with Pearl Barley for stability.

• Faux fur beards, acrylic stuffed hats and wooden noses – glue usage limited.

• Each Gnome has a ‘handmade with love’ wooden button detail.

• Larger Gnomes are given an individual Viking name prior to adoption.

• Each Gnome can take anything from an hour to over a day to make.

• Each Gnome is packaged in a recyclable bag with solid base, business card and a silicon sachet – perfect to give as a present.

Gnome Aftercare

BGS Gnomes are made as naturally as possible from predominantly 100% wool felt and stuffed with pearl barley. Each Gnome has a two week holiday in the freezer after they are made to ensure they are in the best of health before they are adopted, they are Nordic and used to the cold temperatures!

Gnomes can live long healthy lives but some maintenance and healthcare is needed and appreciated by them…

• Gnomes are particular about their beards – please keep neat and tidy, groom with a flea comb if necessary.

• Clean dust off with sellotape or a lint remover – do not wash the wool felt.

• Moths and vermin find us tasty so please ensure you keep away from these pesky little critters. Moth stop/lavender are both good Gnomeopathic remedies.
